This product does what it advertises. It works great for fixed distances of 1, 2, or 3 feet, but 2’6″ is out of the question. There are numerous products that do adjustable ranges, but they are not as reliable as this fixed distance product.

I installed the first one about 2 months ago and found it works very well, so I added one for the other car in the garage several weeks ago. When you get about 5 feet from the sensor the red light starts flashing, which is the hint to slow down. You set a switch on the back of the sensor for 1, 2 or 3 feet, which is the when the light changes to a solid red.
Some reviewers said they had a problem with trying to use 2 units in the same garage, because if the units are too close together, both units might sense the same car entering and would send signals that interfere with each other. The way I tested to see if this would be a problem before I ordered the 2nd unit is by noting that when I brought the 2nd car into the garage (on the side w/o the sensor) I noted that the installed sensor in front of the other car did not flash. This told me the sensors could be installed far enough apart that they would only “sense” the car immediately in front of it.

Our two-car garage accommodates a compact car, motorcycle, and workbench. With an epoxy finnished floor and chair for the dog to sit in, it’s like an extension to the interior of our house. The car needs to be parked precisely for the automatic door to close, for us to access a closet in front of the car, and for the motorcycle and shop to have their space. This GE product was easy to install, has a nice design, and works. The 1-2-3 foot setting also works for us: at two feet, we can still access the closet in front of the car and the door can close behind it. (But just in case I also laid down a heavy yellow, commercial parking bumper should anyone miss the GE unit’s red warning light.) Works well, nice design.

Have had the parking sensor for about a month. It was easy to install and it works real well. I have it set at 1 ft and it stops the car pretty close to a ft. It comes with all the hardware to mount it to a wall.

I just got this today and installed it immediately. This is a great product and the fact that GE has made the product shows off in its finish and quality. The product works exactly as advertised and is much better than buying cheap imitation products. The only small issue is the stick tape is weak however there are panels to screw this on and this comes with screws. I just wish that this also had an audio connection with this. I feel you cannot get a better product made by GE at this price. If you are looking for a garage parking guidance, this is it.
The only cons of this product are that the stick tape is of a poor quality, in day light, you have to carefully look for the lights to blink. If the colour of the display unit piece was black, it would be easier to see the light.
Another good product available on Amazon.Co.Uk is Parking Dyanmics No Holes EMF Sensor. This is a much upscaled product and can assist in parking as well.
